If you want a warm and welcoming atmosphere, try using red, yellow, or orange hues. Warmer colors also work well if you have a very spacious room and you want the perception to be that things are more inward or – cozy. If your room is somewhat small, try cool colors like shades of blues, purples, greens, or even grey. These hues will give the perception that a room is larger than it really is.
Have you ever found yourself sitting in bed after a long, arduous day at work, or school and stared blankly at your walls and thought to yourself, ”My walls are missing something?” No? Well, neither have I, but what I have noticed is how you can dress up some pretty dreary-looking walls with contemporary wall art and really change the whole mood and appearance of the entire room.
The first thing you need to do is stop and really think about the type of wall art that you like. There`s no point in covering your wall with something that you don`t want to look at. When you`re shopping for prints, posters, or wall decals that you can display on your wall, you should set aside a dozen or so pieces that tickle something inside of you. If you`re looking at something and don`t experience an emotional connection, or if the image causes your lip to curl in disgust you should pass it over without a second look. It doesn`t matter if your friends and family and the general population think the image is the greatest work of art ever. You`re the one who will have to look at it.
The first thing you need to do is assess the condition of your walls. Do they need a fresh coat of paint? Are they riddled with holes from the dozens of pictures you had hanging? What about color? Many modern homes are using one wall to add a new accent color to their room. By painting one wall a different color you can really change the whole flow of the room.
Once you`ve set aside the pieces of art you like, you`re going to have to narrow down your choices. Look everything over and discard anything that`s not really speaking to you. What kind of space do you have to work with? Some pieces of wall art will be too large for space, or won`t be large enough. The large pieces you`re either going to have to set aside or decide if there`s another place where you can display them. If you`re worried that the piece you`re considering will be too small, and will look funny on the wall, you might want to look for some other bits of wall art that match the first piece in size and feel. If you find the right bits of art, you can use several pieces on the wall to create a series.
There are different types of artworks that can be used as walls today such as European tapestries. Prior to now, abstract realities were mainly used for wall decor. But today decoration with artworks is not only done with abstract realities. Both animate and inanimate realities can be represented in artwork. In the light of above, there are multiple options available too if you want to decorate your wall with an art piece.
Wall art is a very loose term for a category of art that has so many different pieces to it. It might be sufficient enough to say that it is ”art for your walls”, but even so, it really doesn`t do justice to the broad scope of artworks that will make your walls spring back to life! Modern wall art is pretty much anything and everything you put on your walls to coincide with the rest of the decor in your room. That could be a photo print, a painting, or shelves with mini figurines.
