Quote from Easy Wall Art :
Some very important points to consider when picking out wall art is, What will you be using the room or space for? Do you regularly have guests over? Will you be entertaining? Is this just a family space?
Where you hang your art piece is as important as what you hang. Remember the entire space around the art piece becomes an extension of it. Lighting, the empty space around it, and how far or near it is to the furniture all interact with your art piece and should be measured in totality before deciding on the piece. The bottom line is that a bit more expensive piece may not necessarily be the right one and a smaller piece may be much more suitable.
It`s very important for you to incorporate your personal taste in the wall art you go for. This is because artworks speak louder than words. The kind of arts you have on your wall goes a long way to telling people that come around the kind of person you are. The arts can also tell people the kind of life you live and the kind attitudes you portray.
Photographs are not for everyone and there are many different styles of art to choose from. The best way to choose this is to look at many different styles and find what style you are drawn to the most. Some of these styles are contemporary art, graphic art, metal art, oil paintings, period pieces, vintage prints (ads and pictures), modern art, historical pieces, watercolors, etc.. etc… Going through the many examples of art styles is a large task but you will quickly decide upon the styles you are drawn to and the ones you are not.
I mentioned Photographs before because photographs can easily tell your story. Color photographs are good in that you can easily match the colors to the rest of the room. Black and white photos always look good and will work with just about any decor. They can look modern or vintage.
If your entire house has a specific color scheme, it is advisable to stick with that scheme while choosing your wall decor. Art that synchronizes with the prevalent color scheme never fails to appeal and is always pleasant on the eyes. However, if matching colors is not to your taste, it is perfectly okay to choose wall art that is in contrast with your existing color scheme. Rather than make the wall art blend in with the surroundings, it will make it stand out, giving it more prominence and visibility.
Artworks generally are educative in nature. Wall arts are no an exception to this.
